TWIRL,
Love your magazine! We are new subscribers who are sharing your magazine with twirl friends who will soon subscribe themselves, we feel sure!
Thanks for providing this service. It supports the wonderful art of twirling so that generations to come will continue to twirl!

Hi
By Alicia at Wednesday 18 February 2009
I am really glad to see a twirling magazine. My daughter has been a baton twirler from the age of 3. It would be great if you could travel to the Virgin Islands to do a story on the talents of the majorette groups here. We have about 5 majorette groups in St. Thomas and about 3 groups on the island of St. Croix. We celebrate carnival in late April or early May; this is the time for the group to showcase all their hard work.

Just a note to say hello to the baton twirling community. I was a member of the 1st United States Twirling Team back in 1978. Hello to everyone who was there. Just retired from teaching in January. I Am still judging though.

This is a great site! It's neat to see the information for all organizations on this site. This is my first time on the site and have enjoyed reading it. I have twirled since I was 3 all the way through college. I was a majorette at Penn State. I just like to read this to stay connected with what is going on in the twirling world!

I'm a twirler from years ago---------if you look under a writer and illustrator Dorothy Grider you will find a little book I modeled for. The book is called "Little Majorette"--------yup, I'm the model. I began twirling at age 7 and twirled all the way till I graduated from college, got married and had children.
I have so many memories, medals, batons, trophies, uniforms, contests, judging sheets, pictures, scrapbooks and now will have my items used in the Little Majorette book put on display at the useum in Western Kentucky Universkity where Dorothy Grider's books are on display.
It is a delight to see twirling as big as it is--------for years, twirling go no respect-----------glad to see the fabulous come back--------it was a major piece of my life!
