WTA, WBTA, NBTA, etc, etc... 5 Months ago Karma: 0
Hi all,
I am trying to figure out which organization and contests would be best to attend if one had a group in north-central Ohio? I grew up attending WTA contests, but I feel WTA, although a great organization, is sort of isolated from the rest of the contest world. (At least it felt that way to me).

I have no experience with the other organizations. Any thoughts? I'd love to hear others' opinions and experiences... especially northern Ohioans.

Thanks all! Happy twirling!

I would look into each organization(websites) and if possible go to some contests to get a feel for what each org. offers. They are all so unique with their events. Some transfer over - others don't.

If attending contests isn't possible I would come on here and ask questions...lol.

Im not in Ohio but I can answer questions you might have about NBTA events. I know ther are a ton of people on here that are from other organizations and they could help you sort thru those.

First I'd start checking out all the sites.

Here's a list just incase you don't have them yet.

NBTA http://www.batontwirling.com/
click on NBTA

USTA http://www.ustwirling.com/

TU http://www.twirlingunlimited.com/

DMA http://www.dmatwirl.org/

WTA http://www.worldtwirling.cc/

Hope that helps some

I'm in central Ohio and we do mostly TU. There aren't many NBTA contests close by and the one we did register for got canceled and then it was confusing and a hassel refunding all the parents. I would also like to try new organizations, but they are either too far away or charge a membership fee. The fee isn't worth it given the few times we would actually go and that's just more I'd have to charge the parents. My parents don't like to travel farther than 1 1/2 hours so that's why TU is nice since they are all over.

What town are you located and what is your group?
